Backpacking Bangladesh
In October 2022, our founders, Poppy & Jaan, spent 4 weeks travelling the 8 divisions of Bangladesh, learning, listening and researching opportunities for collaboration.
Whilst travelling 3493km, visiting 59 places of interest and making new friends they created a podcast of 23 short episodes that can be found on Spotify.
Have a listen and let us know if you would like any more information on the places they visited.

Bhola’s Children
Whilst in Bangladesh Poppy and Jaan visited a charity called Bhola’s Children. Since 2007, Bhola’s Children provide funding for a home and school for orphaned and disabled children on the island of Bhola. Bhola means “forgotten place”.
Join them as they are embraced into the Bhola family, partake in the Hindu festival of Pooja, learn Bangla sign and swim in fukris.
Connecting with Grameen Caledonian Nurses
Poppy and Jaan also met with the 3 women, Ms Rifat Binta Meza, Ms Saima Khatun and Ms Kulsum Khatun who are studying BSc Nursing in Bangladesh at Grameen Caledonian Nursing College.
Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing offers scholarships for Under Graduate Diplomas, Bscs and Post Basic Qualifications. Poppy and Jaan were incredibly moved to hear the stories of the student studying there and the commitment of the college to create social change and their commitment to their student’s wellbeing.
